A worthwhile sacrifice of time–The Sacrifice by Robin Woods

Once again, Robin Woods wows her readers. The third book in the Watchers series did not disappoint. More action, more intrigue, more of everything that has kept us all such avid followers of Ali’s story appears in this new installment. I couldn’t tear my eyes away from the page at times. This book is truly worth the read (Be warned: you might finish in one sitting ;D), especially for those who have adored the other books as much as I have.

Ca-caw! : The Raven Boys by Maggie Steifvater

I don’t usually read (or enjoy) psychic fiction. However, this time, for Maggie Steifvater, I read the book anyway. I was pleasantly surprised by the unique characters and the lack of make-out scenes. Don’t get me wrong–I enjoy a good romance, but young adult books are now so full of them that they seem to take away from real character development and plot. I look forward to the next installment of this series with an eager anticipation of further knowledge of Blue, Gansey, and the other fascinating characters.

The Next Rising Series: The Nexus by Robin Woods

From the beginning of The Unintended (the first in the series), I could tell that I would end up in love, head-over-heels, with the story of Aleria Hayes. And that I did. The Nexus, believe it or not, was even more enthralling than the previous book. It found me laughing hysterically, gnawing on my fingernails, or nearly crying at every turn. Robin Woods has the power to break or satisfy a reader’s heart, and she does both, frequently and skillfully. I can’t decide whether to despise or admire how much power she has over my heart. I eagerly await The Sacrifice. No, I am DYING for The Sacrifice. Pun Unintended.

An Unexpected Blessing: The Unintended by Robin Woods

A fantastic work of suspense and mystique, this young adult novel left me craving more. Robin Woods has created a brilliant world where everything and nothing can make sense simultaneously. Her vampires do not sparkle, but their roles are far more intriguing. Woods’ unique take on these over-used villains is refreshing. I was especially impressed with their background. The romance also refrains from being overbearing. Although thoroughly enjoyable, the romantic relationship does not become the focus of the novel like in most YA fiction (which is good, because I am rooting for the second love interest!). A must read for any teenage girls who had lost faith in vampire fiction.
